  • Dedication Festival (7-9 Nov)
Saturday 8th November marks 109 years since this Cathedral was dedicated to the worship of God. A three-day Dedication Festival is planned which begins on Friday 7th November with a public lecture on the history and significance of St. George’s Cathedral. On the Saturday, commencing at 10:00hrs, tours of the Cathedral will be conducted, and the day's programme will include exhibition of some of our silver and brass vessels, vestments, records from the nineteenth century, piano recitals by some of our local musicians, choral renditions by the Woodside choir and the official launching of our website. The dedication Mass will be on the Sunday 9th at 17:30hrs.
  • Website launch (8 Nov)
On its 109th dedication anniversary St. Georges Cathedral will go online. In addition to its role in the Anglican community St. Georges Cathedral is also a national landmark and part of the Guyanese heritage. The website is to provide Guyanese and persons interested in our fair country information on and a digital view of the cathedral; and thereby provide an archive on this part of our national heritage in a modern and accessible manner. The website was developed as a public service by RedSpider.biz.
